How to Find Clients for Interior Design Services

How to Find Clients for Interior Design Services

As a new interior designer, it can be difficult to launch your business off the ground. Acquiring clients takes time, and often depends on your personal network during the early months. Fortunately, there are some steps you can take to put your name out there and bring clients in month after month. Here are a few tips:

Build a Website

Every good business has a strong home page that their customers can visit to learn more. A modern website should be clear and concise while providing clients with a good idea of what services you offer and in what areas. You should include a variety of images that showcase your work so clients can see if your style fits their needs. Your website should also be full of opportunities for your visitors to contact you directly.

Get Social

Social media is one of the most effective means of reaching new clients today. Social media provides a wealth of marketing tools that are geared toward specific geographic regions and demographics. This is a great way to announce to your friends and family that you are in business. Get them to share your posts, and you will instantly gain access to hundreds of potential new clients. Make sure that your social media posts lead back to your main website.

Start a Blog

Blogging provides a number of benefits to any new interior design business. If you want to know how to make your business grow, start writing content-rich blogs that help readers engage with your service and start thinking about design projects around their homes. You can provide helpful hints, fresh new ideas, or teach the fundamentals of design. Blogging allows you to gain followers who trust you for advice and trust your business to do quality work.

Participate in Trade Shows

Finally, you can learn how to grow a business by attending trade shows specific to your industry. For instance, the Home Design and Remodeling Show in South Florida presents an excellent opportunity to meet clients face to face and gather leads for consultations. Not only will you get plenty of face time with real people, but you will also have a chance to network with other designers and learn about new products that may be great for your clients. An exhibitor booth will give you plenty of space to display your work and bring people in so you can learn about their projects while they learn about you.

How Much Does it Cost to Remodel a Kitchen?

How Much Does it Cost to Remodel a Kitchen?

The costs of remodeling a kitchen can vary greatly depending on the amount and type of work you want to be done. The good news is that there are many services and products designed to help give your kitchen a facelift while saving you time and money. Here’s what you should expect in kitchen remodel costs:

Setting a Realistic Budget

Your budget is the first step to preparing for a kitchen remodel. You can remodel a kitchen for as little as $3,000, or as much as $40,000 depending on your goals, so you need to be very specific about what you can afford before you begin shopping. Altogether, the average kitchen remodel cost comes in around $21,000.

How Long Will You Live in the Home

Before you run out and spend a fortune on a kitchen remodel, you should decide how long you want to live in the house. While kitchens do tend to have a high rate of returns when you go to sell, there’s no way to guarantee that you’ll make all your money back if you go overboard. If you plan on moving in the next year or two, it might be worth it only to make small changes.

Shopping For Your New Kitchen

If you are trying to stick to a strict budget, you will need to be mindful of how much certain parts of your kitchen will cost. Replacing all of your cabinets and hardware is typically the most expensive part of any remodel. However, you may opt to reface your cabinets instead which can save you a ton of money. Installation fees also add up quickly during the process, but you can eliminate this by doing some or all of the work yourself. You can adjust your kitchen remodel to fit just about any budget as long as you do your research in advance and make educated decisions about what you are buying new versus what you are going to reuse.

If you’re ready to get started on your kitchen remodel, check out the Home Design and Remodeling Show in South Florida. You will see a vast selection of new products that are great for any modern kitchen, and you can meet service providers for everything from plumbing to electrical. This is your chance to gather ideas and learn about the specific costs of some items you will need for your kitchen remodel project. Check out Home Shows online to find upcoming dates near you.

Home Sales in 2018: 5 Facts Home Remodeling Companies Should Know

Home Sales in 2018: 5 Facts Home Remodeling Companies Should Know

If there’s one thing we’ve come to count on in the real estate industry, it’s the constant need to keep up with changing trends each year. As we head into 2018, there are already a handful of predictions being thrown around by real estate gurus. If you’re in the construction industry, you need to be prepared for what the new year has to offer.

New homes are the focus

Total home sales are expected to see a slight increase next year, with new home construction being the key driver of this growth. 2018 is likely to be a big year for buyers who are finally recovering from losses back in 2008 as any signs of foreclosure fall off of credit reports and families are eligible to buy homes again.

Our ideal home is changing

Instead of buying large houses with extra space, the trend toward micro homes is ticking along steadily. More people are valuing function over form these days.

Personal pampering over family growth

Perhaps the most important trends for home improvement companies have to do with changes in living arrangements. Despite the ongoing narrative about kids moving home after college, the fact is that families are shrinking in size these days. Young families are more likely to want home offices and hobby spaces than extra bedrooms and nurseries.

Pampering doesn’t stop at the walls

More and more families want to create comfortable living spaces indoors and out for entertaining guests. This will have a big impact on the type of renovations and design features that will be trending this year. Big outdoor living spaces are trending!

Modern tech is the key

More and more young families are interested in sustainable living and smart home features. They want home ownership to be less stressful than renting, and that means simplifying everyday tasks.

While the real estate world is always full of surprises, we do have some strong indicators of where we’re headed for 2018. Home improvement companies can make the most of these home trends at the Home Design and Remodeling Show. There will be consumers from all walks of life looking for reliable companies to handle their renovations and help them attain their dream home.

Flipping Houses for a Living: How Much Do House Flippers Make?

Thanks to networks like HGTV, more and more people are becoming interested in house flipping as a means of making extra income. While flipping houses isn’t for everybody, it does offer the possibility of positive returns for those who have the skill and ability to invest wisely and work diligently. Here’s an overview of how much you could make flipping houses.

How Much Do House Flippers Make?

The amount of money you can make flipping houses largely depends on how many houses you can flip, not in finding a single house that will net you a huge profit. One of the most consistent house flipping tips you’ll see is to search for houses where you can make a clear 10 percent to 15 percent profit on the sale after paying for repairs, realtor fees, title fees and financing. While those numbers can change depending on the price range that you’re working in, most experienced flippers hope to make around $25,000 per flip, although they always hope for more. What they won’t do is buy into a house that will only give them a profit of $10,000, which could be eaten up if there are unexpected expenses during the repair process.

What to Watch Out For

There are two major areas where new house flippers tend to lose money: unexpected repairs and holding the house for too long. An experienced flipper will have a complete flip done within 90 days, freeing up their money for the next investment. If it takes longer than 90 days to get the house sold, you’re likely losing money each day. Also, you should always estimate your repair costs on the high side by adding a 15 percent to 20 percent buffer to your expected expenses. With the right system in place, it is possible to flip a dozen houses or more each year and make gross profits in the six figures.

If you’re interested in learning how to flip houses successfully in the South Florida market, we encourage you to join us at the Home Remodeling and Design Show. We have a variety of demonstrations and products designed to help house flippers get the most out of their investments. There is plenty to see and learn each year, as well as networking opportunities for new flippers to get started.
