Featured Speaker - Nina Magon

Presenting complimentary design seminars Saturday, Sunday and Labor Day at 2:00 pm; and Saturday and Sunday at 4:00 pm. An original room design by her design firm will be featured at the show.

In 2013 Nina Magon was hand-picked by Oprah Winfrey’s interior designer, Nate Berkus, to appear on NBC’s American Dream Builders in which 12 of the most notable, respected and established designers and builders from around the country competed to win the title of the first American Dream Builder. Nina was a semi-finalist in this national competition and was continuously praised for her high level of taste and aesthetics. She is renowned for her signature refined modern aesthetic that perfectly balances bold high design with glamorous appeal. As Creative Director of Contour Interior Design with locations in both Houston, TX & Miami, FL, Nina seeks to first create a vision and then execute it for each client, designing one-of-a-kind environments, each tailored to the client’s unique taste, with an emphasis on skillfully executed, flawless detail. Contour is lauded in its industry for its integration of design innovation, construction expertise, and business acumen. Her lavish residential and commercial interiors have won her national acclaim as she was named one of the top designers in the country by NBC. In addition to her many accolades, she was deemed “The Design Industry’s Next It Girl” by POPSUGAR and was called “The Breakout Star” by Rue Magazine.

Nina has won several awards in both commercial and residential design, including the “Rising Star” Design Award, “PaperCity” Award, the “Star Award” and many ASID & Houzz awards for Best Designer in several categories. She also sits on the Board of Designers for Zillow and speaks on design subjects at industry events around the country.

Nina is a member of the International Interior Design Association (IIDA), Interior Design Society (IDS), American Association of Interior Designers (ASID), the Greater Houston Builders Association (GHBA), National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), and Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce (GHWCC).

Currently, Nina splits her time between running both Contour Interior Design’s Houston and Miami offices, as well as developing new licensing collections under the growing Nina Magon, LLC brand. Additionally, her first furniture line is set to debut in the Fall of 2015. A sneak peek of her furniture line will be featured in the original room design that Contour Interior Design will present at the Home Show.

Nina and her husband Karun have been married since 2005 and are proud parents to two little ones, Aryan & Alina.
